“Rooted in Care, Rebel in Spirit”

I had the pleasure of working with TaKara during my recent postpartum period, and the support she provided was invaluable. As an experienced mother, I initially wasn't sure if there was much left for me to learn; however, TaKara proved that expert support is beneficial regardless of how many times you’ve made the transition home. Her technical knowledge was evident from day one. She provided exceptional guidance on my breastfeeding journey, offering specific techniques for proper latching and positioning that made a significant difference in my comfort and confidence. Beyond the physical support, her focus on nutritional recovery was a highlight. She prepared postpartum-specific meals and snacks that were not only delicious but intentionally designed to support the healing process. In addition, she provided a safe, non-judgmental space for me to process my postpartum feelings. In a season of life that can often feel chaotic, she ensured I felt heard.

I highly recommend TaKara’s services to any mother—whether it is your first child or your fifth. Her blend of professional expertise and genuine compassion is a rare find.

FAQs

  • Your location of birth is a personal and important one, and a doula can be helpful in all locations. I attend births at hospitals, home births, and birth centers. While I support the decision for a free birth, I do not feel comfortable attending without a medical professional present.

  • Yes, a doula would be most beneficial!

Birth doulas contribute to a more positive experience by helping you prepare for the cesarean, provide emotional support for yourself and your partner, centering your voice, as well as being a calming presence.

Postpartum doulas can assist with bonding and feeding immediately after, help with comfort measures, connect you with necessary resources, and provide a safe space to process your birth.

  • Yes! I take WA Sate Medicaid for doula support. My services can also be paid for using your HSA/FSA. If not billing medicaid, half of your investment is due at the signing of the contract, while the second half is due by the first prenatal visit. I am happy to work out a personalized payment plan, though. Additionally, we can work on a sliding scale fee together if my investment isn’t attainable to you. I never want finances to be a barrier!

I cannot take insurance for Lactation services at this time. A superbill will be provided, if needed. Payment due at time of service.

  • No, a doula does not replace a birth partner. Doulas provide additional support as part of the birth team. We provide resources and referrals, we can do things such as filling your water or grabbing you a snack so your birth partner does not have to leave your side, provide reassurance to you and your birth partner, we bring experience and and training to the table, and so much more.

  • General lactation support is included in my birth and postpartum doula services during regular visits. However, if you are in need of lactation support and do not want a doula, or more in-depth lactation support is needed, you can schedule lactation specific visits. Please see my Lactation Support services for further information.
